Common Traits of Wisconsin Innkeepers
[caption id="attachment_884" align="alignright" width="71"] Cookies - YES! Cookie cutter - NEVER![/caption] Every B&B in Wisconsin is unique, and so too are its innkeepers. Yet it seems there are some commonalities when it comes to innkeeper personality traits. Many are corporate runaways who gave up an office job for a career in hospitality. Lots of innkeepers will tell you they always dreamed of owning a B&B. Most are accomplished home chefs, although modest about their talent – they let the food do the talking. They’re businesspeople who recognize running a B&B requires creativity, authenticity, a love of the hospitality trade, and some accounting and marketing skills as well. Oh, and being handy with tools doesn’t hurt either! They’re historians, community cheerleaders and shopping insiders. In other words, they’re artisans. So, if you like to support entrepreneurs who eschew cookie cutter for one-of-a-kind (which often includes killer chocolate chip cookies, by the way), then B&B travel might be right up your alley.
