Dog Days and B&B Nights

Posted: Wed-Feb-2013

Even if you don’t own a dog it’s difficult to resist tuning in to the annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show if only for the announcement of Best in Show. Oh, the drama, the divas, the dog handlers…and what’s with those doggie treats! At any rate, if you are a pet person, you’ll be happy to know there are 13 inns in Wisconsin that would be very pleased to host you and your canine companion.  So, if you’re the type of person who would never dream of leaving home without your prized purebred or mutt with the magnetic personality, the Wisconsin Bed & Breakfast Association has you covered. [caption id="attachment_1054" align="alignleft" width="200"] Miss Maggie D. of the Dobranoc Inn of Fond du Lac has graciously hosted many guest pups and gently tutored them on B&B etiquette.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1056" align="alignright" width="300"] You'll never walk alone on the Grapevine Log Cabins' trails in Sparta. The walking trail starts behind the cabins and meanders up and down hills through the woods. It is about one mile long, mowed and maintained all summer. Ruby, their dog will be glad to accompany you on your walk. She is always ready to go with you and sometimes she just gets back and someone else is going to take a walk and away she goes again.[/caption]                       [caption id="attachment_1055" align="alignleft" width="223"] Balou, the friendly boxer at Jay Lee Inn, Elkhart Lake spends most of the time in the family's private quarters when he's not welcoming guests - either 2 or 4 legged.[/caption]
