About The Scofield House

Experience Victorian elegance and contemporary comfort when you visit Door County and spend a night in this gracious, turn-of-the-century home.  Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, it is an easy walk to the downtown shops, museums, and restaurants.

Built for a local businessman and former mayor of Sturgeon Bay, the house reflects the opulence of "high" Victorian architecture. With beveled crystal and stained glass windows, to door and window frames ornamented with hand-carved bows, ribbons, swags, and flowers. The hardwood floors are inlaid with red and white oak, maple and cherry. The rooms are furnished with many fine antiques.

The inviting common rooms beckon guests to relax with a cup of coffee or tea, read, listen to music, play cards or a boardgame. A full breakfast is served in our dining room or front parlor.

The six guestrooms, each with private bath, are distinctly decorated. The ornate bedframes are from the late 1800's and the mattresses are comfortable pillow-tops, dressed in luxurious sheets, intended for a good night's rest. Smart TV's in every room, with access to free WiFi. Most of the rooms have double whirlpools & fireplaces.
