It is outdoors however, where the Inn truly shines. The beautiful wrap-around porch invites you to breakfast outside, while admiring the dozens of hummingbirds that flock to the feeders all summer long. Read a book, chat with friends, or just listen to the nature sounds around you while relaxing on the swings or lounge chairs on the side deck. Unique raised bed gardens not only provide a visual floral feast in the height of summer, but may also provide the fruits and vegetables served to you at breakfast.

This area of southwestern Wisconsin somehow escaped the great "Ice Age" (called the Wisconsin glaciations). It also mysteriously escaped the previous ice age (the Illinoisan). Nowhere else that we know of on the planet has any such ice-surrounded "island" occurred during any of the Ice Ages. Today we call it the driftless area--unique in the entire world.
