Wednesday, November 13
   * Optional Innkeeper Learning Sessions - 8:00am-9:00am - (Light Continental Breakfast for Session Participants ~ Sponsored by the Association of Independent Hospitality Professionals [AIHP])

*Option 1 - "Email Marketing - The Time And Money Investment That Every Innkeeper Should Be Buying Into" ~ Heather Turner, Marketing Director at PAII and Owner of Forfeng Designs Marketing Company - Email marketing is one of the best time and money investments B&Bs can take advantage of, but many don't leverage it, or do it it at all. Learn how to craft a good subject line, what content is working for B&B newsletters, and what is not. Basic tips and best practices for inns just getting into email marketing for the first time or for those who want to revisit it. What ways can you aggregate and get email subscribers, and we will touch on information about the CAN-SPAM act which is the National Standard regulating commercial email communication. We will, most importantly, go over the steps you can take to make the cost (and time) of email marketing worth your time and money investment.

*Option 2 - "Everything You Need To Know About ADA-Service/Therapy Animals From An Expert Who Has One" ~ Gerald "Red" E. Van Ert Jr. MS, MPA, Deputy Chief of Operations - Administration & Emergency Management of the City of Altoona Fire Department - "Red" is a 31-year military veteran that was combat injured while serving in Iraq. He requires a service dog for medication alert and assistance in public. He educates about service animals due to the events he has endured and the large number of "Fakers" that cause service dog handlers trouble.

He has heard and seen them all now that he is a service dog handler and understands what one goes through. In the hospitality business, it is hard to accommodate animals of any kind in order to keep a clean and allergy free establishment while trying to make the customer happy. He will explain the laws that pertain to the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and service dogs, as well as teach you ways to figure out who is faking their dog as a service animal. After, he will be around to answer your questions and relate them to events that have happened to him.

*Option 3 - “What Is New at bnbfinder and Their Book Direct Efforts” ~ Janice Hurley, General Manager, bnbfinder - bnbfinder is focused on providing innkeepers a way to drive reservations directly to their property via a world-class industry website that provides travelers with comprehensive information on B&Bs and Inns along with monthly newsletters, gift cards, recipes, and more.
