Oshkosh, otherwise known as the Event City, is located in Northeast Wisconsin along the beautiful western shores of Lake Winnebago, however we are also banked by the Fox River AND Lake Butte des Morts in Winnebago County.
Why are we known as the Event City? Oshkosh plays host to hundreds of regional, national and international events every year, such as EAA, Country USA and LiFest just to name a few. Our downtown is booming with great retail shops, restaurants and and outdoor music festivals. Summer is what is all about here in Wisconsin. Oshkosh also offers a variety of unique attractions such as the Experimental Aircraft Association AirVenture Museum, the historic Grand Opera House, the Paine Art Center and Gardens and because we are on so much water, fishing and boating events are prevalent. Don’t let me forget to mention that we are also home to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, the Wisconsin Herd and Oshkosh Corporation.
Just 1 ½ hours from Milwaukee and 3 ½ hours from Chicago, you can see why Oshkosh is the place to be.
